Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Obstetrics and gynaecology is a medical specialty that focuses on the female reproductive system. It encompasses both obstetrics, which deals with pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, and gynaecology, which focuses on the health of the female reproductive system outside of pregnancy. Obstetricians and gynaecologists are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions related to the female reproductive system, including fertility problems, menstrual disorders, gynecologic cancers, and complications during pregnancy and childbirth. They also provide preventive care, such as Pap smears and breast exams, and offer counseling on issues related to contraception and family planning.
