Dietician

Meet our Dietician!

A dietitian is a health professional who specializes in nutrition and the regulation of diets. They work with individuals and groups to develop and implement meal plans that meet their specific nutritional needs and goals. Dietitians assess the nutritional needs of clients and develop personalized meal plans to help them achieve optimal health. They also educate clients on healthy eating habits, food preparation, and meal planning, and may work in a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, schools, and community organizations. Dietitians play an important role in preventing and managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity through the promotion of healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes.

She attained a BSc. in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of the West Indies St. Augustine, and went on to do the Post Graduate Dietetic Internship in 2015. She is registered with the Nutritionist and Dietitians Board of Trinidad and Tobago and practices Dietetics in Clinical, Community as well as Foodservice settings.

From a very young age she always knew she wanted to help others, and through this she developed a real passion for Dietetics. She has a genuine interest in helping patients manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity and also has a particular interest in female-related diseases such as PCOS and Endometriosis. She has also been a mentor in training dietetic interns for many years. One of her favourite quotes she lives by is ‘Knowledge is power’ and so she continues to honour that by doing work through health promotion activities and speaking at seminars.

She is also a member of a non-profit organization called Soroptimist International Anaparima through which we do a lot of charity work, and lead projects, and I'm also part of the Executive Board as the Organizational and Development Officer. Not sure if that was relevant to include but that’s my charity work outside of my profession.

Mrs. Nanan-Habib remains committed to providing the best care for her patients and helping them achieve attainable goals through dietary and lifestyle changes. She is dedicated to do so through compassion, empathy and unwavering care for her patients.
